KENNEMER-SIDECO CONTRACT GROWING PROGRAM We offer a long-term growing program for farmers who are interested to plant cacao. Under the Contract Growing Program farmers are provided with planting material, inputs, training, on-going supervision and consulting and a guaranteed buy-back of the harvest at a price linked to the world price. Seedlings The quality of the planting material is one of the most important factors in determining the success and income of a cacao farm. That is why all our growers are provided with high-yielding, six-month old, clonal cacao seedlings. Technical Assistance Cacao trees that receive regular attention will yield more beans. All our growers receive training courses for every stage of the growing process, including field preparation, planting, management of the gestation period, harvesting, pest management, on-going care and maintenance and the rehabilitation of older trees. Regular coaching and monitoring by KFI field-technicians is provided to ensure the implementation of good agricultural practices and the proper application of inputs. Kennemer Foods Buying Our regular practice is to buy wet beans from our growers and we will take care of the fermentation, drying and packing. But KFI thru its sole consolidator SIDECO will also buy fully fermented and dried beans based on STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR CACAO BEANS. Buying prices are always linked to the world price of cacao. Fees and Financial Assistance Planting materials and inputs are provided at reasonable prices. Financial assistance is available for qualified private farms and cooperatives. Locations Contract growing programs are offered throughout Mindanao and the Visayas.
