KNEE JERK REACTION SOCIETY WE ARE : Yesterday innocent Kenyans died in accident involving Train and a matatu. This is how the aftermath played out.. 1.The Matatu sacco officials blamed the shacks built next to the railway line by traders and not the driver of the bus. 2.The railway company blamed the traders & politicians for getting injuctions from the court everytime the railway company try to evict those encroaching along the railwayline. 3.The general wananchi blamed the driver for speeding and ignoring approaching train warning. However If we try to look at the issue objectively, the leaders are solely to blame. They prefer fame and to be worshipped than supporting or initiating good policies to help the country. The politician want to please the traders who are his/her electorate but even those who died/injured in the accident are his/her electorate as well.. Sadly this will just pass like soo many other incidences before and the mourning families will bury their dead and no shift in policy regarding issue of encroachment along railway and pipeline or strict enforcement of the law regarding the same. Politicians will continue getting fame and wananchi will continue dying from avoidable deaths. Then when it will happen again the usual chorus will be played out again..
