He clocked 42:14 ahead of Nicholas Kipkemboi 42:32 and Brazilian Daniel Chaves da Silva 43:49 as third. Fourth top Dutch runner Jesper van der Wielen 44:33. In women race also clear win for the world record holder at the distance Tirunesh Dibaba 48:43 with Berhane Adere second in 50:59. Third as best from Japanese group Takagi Ayame 51:08. Fifth Miranda Boonstra as best Dutch 51:41. Legendary Haile Gebrselassie was a guest, could not run due to knee injury.
