KZN Department of Transport Internship Programme 2015 Closing Date: 26 September 2014 Introduction The Department of Transport is offering an Internship Programme opportunity to unemployed graduates in possession of an appropriate degree / diploma / NQF 6 qualification in the following fields in order to gain work-related experience. The Internship Programme will run for 12 months from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016. The Department will pay a monthly stipend to all interns, however transport to and from the workplace and related expenses will be the responsibility of the intern. The successful applicants (interns) will be required to enter into an agreement with the Department. Qualification • Communication Support – Journalism, Public Management and Video Technology • Employee Health & Wellness – BA: Social Science / Industrial Psychology • Finance – Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Accounting and Financial Management • General Administration – Public Management / Public Administration / Office Administration • Human Resource Development – Human Resource Management / Development • Human Resource Management – Human Resource Management • Internal Compliance – Internal Auditing • Management Advisory Service – Production / Operation / HRM, Organisational Development / Work Study and Management Services • Risk Management – Risk Management • Supply Chain Management – Public Management in Finance / Supply Chain Management Requirements • Applicant must reside in KwaZulu-Natal and be from a historically disadvantaged background • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age (during the start and completion of the programme) • Applicants must be unemployed • Applicants must be computer literate in Microsoft packages • Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to work and excel in the specialized fields. • Applicants who have already participated in an internship programme within a Government department will not be considered • Applicants must note that their qualifications (Matric Certificate and tertiary certificate) will be submitted to SAQA for verification, therefore applicants must ensure that any outstanding fees to the institutions must be paid as the system may block the verification of the qualification and result in the applicant not being considered. • Applicants who have already participated in an internship programme within a Government department will not be considered • Applicants must note that their qualifications (Matric Certificate and tertiary certificate) will be submitted to SAQA for verification, therefore applicants must ensure that any outstanding fees to the institutions must be paid as the system may block the verification of the qualification and result in the applicant not being considered. How to Apply? All applications must be submitted on the prescribed Internship Application Form , copies of which are obtainable from the Department of Transport Head Office, Regional Offices. On the application form, clearly state the placement area and occupation you are applying for, eg Cost Centre Metro: HRM Applicants must submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) with traceable contact details, certified copies of all qualifications and Identity Documents, a statement of results and a letter from the institution confirming completion. All information will be verified. Applicants must have their own transport and accommodation and apply for intern position/s within the relevant municipality/district/ region where they reside. Applicants must attach a signed affidavit from a Commissioner of Oaths indicating they are unemployed and have never participated in an internship programme.
