Kabimba Has Fallen Like a Tower of Bricks, says Lubinda Former foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda who suffered at the hands of Wynter Kabimba in the PF shadow power game has hit back at the latter saying his fall has been louder as he had elevated himself to greater heights. Lubinda says he was saddened by Kabimba’s fall but noted it was harder because of the heights the former nominated MP had elevated himself to. Kabimba fought hard to shove Lubinda out of his cabinet portfolio and even attempted to elbow him out of his Kabwata constituency where cadres were lined up to discredit Lubinda who has receded to his people terrain for a shield. The former Secretary General had been positioning himself as a possible successor to President Michael Sata through the backing of his cabal that comprises Post Newspapers editor Fred M’membe and DPP Mutembo Nchito. “If it is a small position that is different, if it just minister of foreign affairs who has no influence and loses his job because of trumped up charges that is different but if he is a hero and he is dropped he falls like a tower of bricks,” he said. “The gravity of the fall depends on the height at which you are. If you rise very high and you looked at yourself as though you are were an eagle the landing is very bad,” he said. Kabimba, a self appointed heir apparent to an ailing President Michael Sata, was sacked yesterday both as justice minister and PF secretary general much to the delight of a cross-section of Zambians.
