Kabimba is Being Unrealistic – Nason Msoni Political activist Nason Msoni says Patriotic Front general secretary Wynter Kabimba’s assertion that the ruling party is still very popular in the country and that it will even get more votes in the 2016 polls than it got in the 2011 elections is an unrealistic political ambition lacking sound political Judgement. Msoni has told Zambia Reports that the barometer of popularity of a political party which is in government is tested and tried by actually winning elections held during the by-elections. Kabimba recently said the PF was very popular and will win the 2016 elections with massive margins. However, Msoni – a former Movement for Multi-Party Democracy member – says Kabimba is cheating himself. “The political terrain has dramatically shifted and the wind is now blowing in favour of the opposition. “The string of losses suffered by the PF Party in the recent by-elections in Chipata Central, Kafulafuta and Solwezi Central clearly points to diminishing political fortunes. “No popular political party assisted with state machinery can lose elections so miserably to opponents lacking both logistics and campaigning on a limited shoe string budget. “A ruling political party that runs to court for assistance to disenfranchise candidates of opponents cannot be said to be popular but rather it is self-admission of inadequacy,” said Msoni. The PF has rushed to court to block Petauke member of parliament Dora Siliya from contesting her seat which was nullified by the Supreme Court. The by-election in that area, Malambo and Mulobezi have since been postponed following the court injunction. zambiareports/2013/08/21/kabimba-is-being-unrealistic-nason-msoni/
