“Kadayawan sa Dabaw” or the Kadayawan Festival is Davao City’s most anticipated festival celebrating life, culture and bountiful harvests. Kadayawan is derived from the prehistoric word “madayaw,” a warm and friendly greeting also used to describe a thing that is valuable, superior and beautiful. Held every third week of August, the Kadayawan Festival is the biggest celebration in the whole Davao Region. The city of Davao becomes even more vibrant and alive during August as the showcase of local produce, competitions, and not to mention street dancing competitions are in order during the festivity. And this year, the whole Kadayawan experience will turn up a notch as Spectrum Philippines & PSD Adventure World present the first-ever Kadayawan Invasion! Last Festival Season kicked off in Bacolod’s Masskara Festival, peaked in Cebu’s Sinulog Festival, and closed out Iloilo City’s Dinagyang Festival.
