Kahata gracious in defeat Harambee stars and Thika United midfield maestro Francis Kahata was left happy despite Kenya losing to Nigeria in a crucial world cup qualifying match played at the Moi International sports centre Kasarani on Wednesday evening. In the first leg the midfielders’ sublime free kick was the talk of town as Kenya almost pulled an all time shock against the reigning Africa champions, but a late equalizer denied Adel Amrouche’s side a memorable win. The stars were warming up for similar results or better but an Ahmed Musa late goal meant Super Eagles carried the day. The atmosphere prior before and after the match was overwhelming having not played in such huge match with big crowds. It was one thing I will live to remember.” Observed the midfielder. “The goal I scored in Calabar could have been a good gift to the relentless support for our fans. Too bad it never happened. I must say it was a great match of which we should have scored from the chances we had. I give credit to the team.” he added. Kahata noted the team is young which the head coach should continue building around to give the nation required results. “From the turnout today it is evident fans have a lot of expectation from the team .as players we have to repay their faith by winning and playing well too.” He said.
