Kaitlynn is doing much better today. Her dad (Greg Burbridge) & Jamie D. Michael Osdieck stayed with her last night and I went home to rest. She ate her first meal since Monday. She chose peanut butter & jelly and Doritos (thanks to her friends Jaclyn Shaon and Emily for bringing one of her favorite chips). Her dad said she slept peacefully through the night finally as well. Kaitlynns heart rate has been pretty high since surgery so the Drs want to do some tests to rule out a P.E. (pulmonary embolism ). The Occupational Therapist is making a new splint for the left leg and then an ultrasound will be done on that leg to make sure all looks well. Her hemoglobin is 8.7. Low but they wont do a blood transfusion unless it gets to 8 or lower. I think it is less likely that she will move out of SICU today after all. When they do transfer there is a possibility they will transfer her to Womens & Childrens Hospital. She sure loves everyone over there so we would be happy with that. We are actually getting smiles and conversations out of her today. She even let her dad & I do a selfie with her :) This is a good day.
