Kander and Ebbs The Visit has, so far, been a show with very bad luck. Originally to star Angela Lansbury, she dropped out to be with her husband in his final days. Finally mounted with Chita Rivera, it was set to come in, but then 9/11 happened and producers got wary of presenting a dark, macabre show and paved the way for a decades worth of shows like Mamma Mia. Even after the death of lyricist Fred Ebb, it has been done and revised at several prestigious regional theatres around the country. Here is a gleefully off-beat number which, if it is still in the show, wont look like this as the production staff has changed for its most recent production. Here with music by John Kander and choreography by Ann Reinking is I Would Never Leave You and The One Legged Tango. At this pointy in the show, the entourage of Claire Zacharnassian (her butler, bodyguards and blind castratti) show her some support.
