Karen looks unimpressive on satellite this morning with convection - TopicsExpress

Karen looks unimpressive on satellite this morning with convection (thunderstorms) away from the center in response to shear across the Gulf. Wind shear is only going to increase as the upper trough over the Rockies quickly moves into the region ushering a cold front. A general northward or slightly NNW motion of Karen toward the LA coast is expected for the next 24 plus hours. As the trough deepens, and the SW flow increases, Karen will then get the anticipated push toward the NE in the direction of the AL and FL coast. Impacts to SE LA should be confined to coastal location with high wave action and tides. Some coastal flooding is also likely. Rainfall should remain far enough east not to cause any problems here. As a matter of fact, rainfall should remain a non-entity. Our forecast looks great by Sunday once the cold front quickly pushes through. Follow me on Twitter: @CFranklinFOX8
