Karl starts school at the Academy of Moore on Monday so we took him on an adventure yesterday. We went to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher near Wilmington, checked out an aquaponics place, and then we went to the beach. Fort Fisher has a pleasant, clean, uncrowded beach, but there was a vicious longshore current yesterday. Its funny how much hitting power short wavelength, low amplitude waves can have. I love playing in heavy waves, but I ended up staying in the shallows most of the time because I was getting pushed sideways more than carried toward shore. We had a BLAST though. Karl was right there in the waves jumping over them and getting "blasted back" when he let them carry him. He discovered that he could float and was almost actually swimming a few times.
