Kathryn shares: We have three sons. One aged 8 with mild autism diagnosis and social and learning difficulties. No behavioural issues. and a age 2 son with no problems. However our 4 year old (5 in dec) has been very difficult from a young age. Putting it down to terrible twos but can no longer do this anymore. He is very badly behaved, has constant tantrums, disobedient in any way possible, wont follow any instructions, cries all the time (whinging screaming) over everything. Causes arguments. He has a very structured routine (our eldest benefits well from this), house rules, chores and we are very fair with all three boys. He is becoming completley unmanageable. Googling I have come across ODD oppositional defiant disorder. Does anyone have experience with this?? He knows he is naughty, admits he is wrong but says he doesnt know why and he cant stop. When I ask if he will behave he says he will try his best. After another tantrum he states he tried his best. To us it seems he knows he cant control his behaviour. Any help appreciated.
