Kathua:- Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma laid foundation stones of Development of Park & Up gradation of Pond and a Public Convenience near ITI at Bhaddu in tehsil Billawar today. The work on these newly laid projects will be completed by department of tourism under the aegis of Lakhanpur – Sarthal Development Authority with an estimated cost of Rs 38 lac. While speaking on the occasion Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that coalition government is giving priority to the promotion of tourism in the state. He said that Billawar tehsil is emerging as one of key centre of religious tourism in the state attracting lacs of devotees each year from in and outside the state. He added that the with the coming up of shrine board for Mata Sukrala and Bala Sundri the area will now open more avenues of development in the tehsil. He further added that tehsil Billawar is immensely quipped with natural landscapes enough to attract the tourist around the year. He said that efforts have been made to restore the historical Baisakhi Mela of Billawar. He added that Rs 5 crore were earmarked for the infrastructural development of the area of sukrala mata shrine. He said that passenger sheds and high mast lights were installed at various yatra points in mata sukrala and mata bala sundri, assured that more civic aminities will be developed in coming times. He added that the increasing inflow of tourism in the tehsil shall be seen as an opportunity for the unemployed youths to become self employed by opening businesses of tourist importance. Dr Sharma said that with the coming up of Park,Public convenience and upgradtion of pond not only Bhaddu people will benefit but also it will make an appealing impact on the tourists. He directed the tourism department to install fountain in the park for which he assured that funds will be given from constituency development funds. SDM Billawar XEN PMGSY, Tesildar Billawar,Sarpanch Bhaddu and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
