Kathua 2 Sept, August: Agriculture Technocrats Association unit district Kathua criticized the state government for indicating the regularization of R-E-Z on merit basis for which the association never fought and demanded that all the R-E-Z should be regularized on the basis of batch wise (Years of Passing) with over age preference said by the association in a press conference held at Kathua. While interacting with media persons the members of the Association district president Joginder Singh, Chairman Vinod Sharma, Advisor Sanjeev Verma, Vice president Rajinder Singh Raju, General Secretary Ravi Slaria and Romy demanded that the regularization of the R-E-Z on basis of Batchwise and overage should done for which the R-E-Z candidates have been struggling for the last sixteen years even the state government has promised to regularize the R-E-Z on year passing (Batchwise) basis and overage would be given preference so many times then why the state government has not seemed as compact at its own stand and commitment, why it has forced the R-E-Z to go strike and agitations again. While that fact is well known to the State government that most of the R-E-Z candidates have attained the over age and left to face the severe economic crisis and surviving with a ray of hope to get regularized on Batchwise. They warned if regularization is not made on Batchwise and with preference to lover age candidate, then association is ready to launch an aggressive protest demonstrations and the state government would itself be the responsible for any dire consequences Kathua 2 September: More than 150 families of ward no. 8 of Panchayat Bani have been forced to survive in total black out due to the negligence of the Power Development Department Bani for the last four months, even the several deputations were held with the department and received nothing more than false and bogus assurance till date in this connection said by Ashok Kumar Panch Panchayat Bani here today. He alleges that the PDD is continually sending electricity bill to its consumers of ward. No.8 Ladmah of Panchayat Bani but failed to provide them the facility of electricity from the last four months due to which their normal life is badly affected and forced to face hardships in the rainy seasion. He said that the 63 KV electric transformer which was installed for theses residents got defunct and out of order four years back, the residents in organized form met with PDD several times even with MLA also but only lame excuses are being done with us and given the false and hollow assurances by saying that the problem will be sorted out soon but nothing has been done in this direction so for and let the people to face miseries. He said the next course of action would be against the negligence of the PDD in the form of aggressive protest demonstration by the resented and victimized residents and the department will be the responsible for ay dire consequences. Lal Singh listens people grievances at Kathua. Kathua:- In order to listen the grievances and demands of the peoples Member Parliament Udhampur-Doda constituency Choudhary Lal Singh convened a Public Grievances Camp at his residence here at kathua. Panchs / Sarpanchs and general public put forth their demands and grievances before the Member Parliament regarding road connectivity, electricity, drinking water, ration, inclusion of genuine poor families in the BPL list etc. MP listened the problems and grievances of the public representatives and assured their redressal on the priority basis. While speaking on the occasion Ch Lal Singh said that UPA government at centre headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is committed for the welfare and upliftment of poor peoples. He said that in order to ensure food to all citizens’ government has recently passed Food Security Bill and it has been launched in some states in the country. He said that government is bringing Land Acquisition Bill to safeguard the interest of the farmers. He said that PRI’s are the important tier of the democracy and central government is keen to strengthen then to achieve the real goal of democracy. He said that 74th amendment regarding Panchayati Raj has been implemented in the J&K State to strengthen the Panchayats. He appealed the panchs and sarpanchs to moniter the departments under their ambit for the welfare of rural masses. Kathua :-Sept 2, 2013. Kathua vikas manch (KVM) has intensified its demand for the creation of a separate hilly district comprising of Bani, Billawar and Basohli tehsils and promotion of urdu language in this regions. as a part of village to village compaign the members of the vikas manch held an impressive meeting at Hatli. The sittings Farmer , Sarpanches, Panches, Numberdars of the adjoining area and prominent inhabitants of surroundings in large numbers attended the meeting convened in the local narsigdev temple. The representative of different religious, social organizations and political parties took active part in the deliberations of the meeting. Earlier the members of the Manch including Prof. Ram Murti Sharma (President of the Manch), Pitamber Dutt Sharma (Gen. Secy.) Daya Nand Sharma (Spokesperson), Babu Ram Bhagat and Sat Paul Khajuria deliberated at length the justification of bifurcation of Kathua district, presenting on the bases of statistical data. The speakers expressed concern over the step motherly approach of the authorities, particularly when many tehsils of the state have been given the status of district headquarters in 2007 and appealed all sections of the society to get united irrespective of caste, creed, social and political bindings for getting the demand conceded to at an earliest. The meeting was organized at the behest of. Sh.Om Parkash Sharma Ex-Sarpanch Hatli and member advisory board of Vikas Manch. The spokes person of the manch stressed upon the need of organized and such meetings frequently in order the sensitize and mobilizee the general masses and develop awareness among them to fight tooth and nail to get the genuine and long pending demands of bifurcation of district fulfilled without any further delay. All those present sought the attention of concerned authorities to promote URDU language in Kathua district which has almost sunk and created a void in educated youth for job in the department of Revenue, Judiciary, Excise, Forest, Police, particular when it is the official language of the state. Various development related committees were constituted on this occasion under the leadership of Om.Parkash.Sharma. They expressed anguish and dismay over the very slow progress in this area and demanded early completion of Hatli – Manu road, improvement in the condition of dispensary and immediate repair of Kathua-Hatli road. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Nazir Ahmed Moulvi, Dilawer Singh Billoria, Thuru Ram, Raj Singh, Jugal Kishore, Gopal Krishan, Arjun Singh, Ajit Singh, R.S. Bandral, Sagar Singh, Kartar Singh, Bishan Das, Krishan Chand, Kapil Sharma, Pyar Singh, Varun Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Anchal Singh, Karam Singh, Nettar Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Shamsher Singh, Vijay Kumar, Pawan Kumar etc Van Mahotasava Celebrated at Govt. Degree College, Kathua A massive plantation drive was organized on the occasion of 64th Van Mahotasava at Govt. Degree College Kathua by Forest Division, Kathua in collaboration with NSS Units of Govt. Degree College, Kathua. About 300 saplings of different species were planted in the college premises. Sh. Jitender Kumar Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme started with the ceremonial plantation by the chief guest in the presence of guest of honor Dr. Nater Singh, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Kathua and Q. D. Khawja, Divisional Forest Officer, Kathua. In his welcome address, Q. D. Khawja, DFO, Kathua welcomed chief guest and other guests on this occasion. He talked about various purposes of planting trees like providing alternating fuel, increase production of food resources, creating shelter belts around fileds to increase productivity etc. He appreciated the role of NSS volunteers and NCC Cadets for taking interest in the plantation drive. Miss. Deepika Bhagat, NSS volunteer of college highlighted the need of environmental conservation in the present scenario. Dr. Nater Singh, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Kathua, in his address, discussed in detail the important of Van Mahotasava i.e. the festival of trees. He termed this festival as festival of life. The objectives of this festival were to spread awareness and enthusiastic approach towards the planting of trees. Sh. Jitender Kumar Singh congratulated the Forest Department and NSS Volunteers and NCC Cadets of Govt. Degree College, Kathua for organizing and participating in the plantation drive on the occasion of 64th Van Mahotasava with full dedication and spirit. He impressed upon the forest officials to continue this type of drives in future also. He gave a salogan “Every person should plant one plant everyday”. During this function Sadbavana Pledge was also given by the worthy chief guest to the NSS Volunteers and NCC Cadets of the College. The proceedings of the function was carried out by Prof. Sumnesh Jasrotia. From the forest department Sh. Sanjay Gupta, DFO Social Forestry, Kathua, Sh. Abhijeet Joshi, ACF, B.D. Thakur, ACF and other official were present in function. From GDC Kathua, NSS Programme officers Prof. Raj Kiran, Dr. Suram Singh and Dr. Ram Singh, NCC Officers Prof. Jasvinder Singh, Prof. Sandeep Choudhary and Dr. Anupama Arora were present in the function. Prof. Gopla Sharam, Dr. Sangeeta and Dr. Anita also witnessed the function. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Vinay Khajuria, Range Officer Kathua.
