Kayla and I went to a Nose Work seminar today. It was very interesting, and Kayla had a good time. Each dog got two run-throughs at their level (Neither I nor Kayla had ever done this before, so we were very beginners). Kayla did pretty well her first time, but her second, she did great! She was much more animated the second time, and even pulled a bit on her harness, so she could feel me relax the lead as a starting signal, and the other participants commented on her happy wagging tail and how quickly she caught on to the search. It helps that she loves food, but she was also very interested in the birch scent. I may pursue this further. it is an activity that is within her physical capability...no jumping involved.
