Kayo, bilang Filipino. Anong mga expectations nyo? Ating pakinggan ang ating ilang mga kababayan. President Benigno “Pnoy” Aquino III will deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) Monday, July 28, 2014 at 4:00 pm.Philippine Standard Time at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Batasan Hills, Quezon City, Metro Manila. In the midst of problems and controversies regarding the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and the (Disbursement Acceleration Program) DAP problems which threaten the Aquino administration, the President is expected to inform the public about the status of the country. It is customary for the President to update the Filipinos about his accomplishment by giving detailed information as to the programs and thrusts that he has led. Several groups lie in wait for his SONA. What are his accomplishments? What are his plans for the next two years? One thing for sure, the public is expecting to hear from Pres. Aquino the facts about DAP in order to satisfy the public. His recent attack on the Supreme Court which declared the DAP unsconstitutional seemed to have reduced his popularity. And he has yet to disclose in plain and simple words that the people will understand what really happened to the money in DAP, which DBM Secretary Butch Abad couldn’t relate in a way to convince the Senators last Tuesday. The President will need also to elaborate on the issues of power shortage and likewise the rehabilitation of the devastated places brought about by typhoon Yolanda, and perhaps by the recent typhoon Glenda, too. Let us watch and listen to the SONA. The people have become restless; too many people are asking questions.
