Keeping The Cupboard Bare: We are reminded of the story of the man - TopicsExpress

Keeping The Cupboard Bare: We are reminded of the story of the man convicted of murdering his mother and father, throwing himself upon the mercy of court claiming he was an orphan. We are headed into negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement next year and it appears the State of Ohio is constantly making sure that the general fund of the state remains a bare cupboard. Currently SB #483 is racing toward the governors signature carrying reduced revenue for the state of $400,000,000.00 in 2015 alone. And who gets the benefit of the funding that could help support salary increases could for state employees who have witnessed an over 23% reduction in spendable income over the past eight years?....Half of the tax cuts the Ohio Senate approved last week for the current tax year will go to the top 5 percent of Ohio earners, who earned at least $151,000 last year. The top 1 percent will get a tax cut for the year averaging $1,846, while the poorest fifth of Ohioans will see just a $4 reduction.
