Kegans brief Lymphoma remission period is over. So we had the meeting with the vet today to decide which of the awful treatment options was going to be best for Kegan. Something that came out in the meeting made me so angry that it wasnt explained better originally. Apparently when the treatment protocol is started is when they start the countdown on the remission period. So when they told us he could have 9-12 months of a remission period, I thought that meant after treatment was over we would have 9-12 months of Kegan feeling good and being medicine free. Nope. That might have swayed my thoughts on putting him through the first round of treatment that we did. Either way, its over and done now. The protocol that we have decided on will give him the least amount of time at the vet (he hates being there to the point where he wont walk through the door, I have to carry him in there) but he will be on it indefinitely. One pill every 3 weeks. Its not as effective as the other options but we felt it would make him the most comfortable.
