Ken Ham’s Biblical Dilemma -- So . . . after essentially scamming Kentucky out of nearly $18 million in tax breaks to build his “Noah’s Ark” theme park, creationist Ken Ham now stands to lose it all over his plan to require prospective employees to submit a letter of “Salvation Testimony” and “Creation Belief Statement with their job applications. The good news is that (for once) Kentucky regulators are not falling for Ham’s Dominionist shell game, and are holding up his tax breaks until the park’s backers provide “assurance. . . that [they] will not discriminate in any way on the basis of religion in hiring for the project . . . .” No response yet from Ham, but we can’t wait to see how his “biblical” principles fare against the mercenary temptations of $18 million in cold, hard cash. We predict the money wins.
