Kenton County School District implements new lunch policy In the spring of 2012, a Good Samaritan paid for school lunches at R.C. Hinsdale Elementary School in Edgewood after some students were forced to throw out their tray of food and instead eat an alternative snack of cheese and crackers during state testing. This incident was a result of some students’ inability to pay their lunch fee. For the 2013 school year, Kenton County has created a new policy. Under the new plan, if a student incurs three meal charges, attempts will be made to reach parents. The school district also increased the cost of the school meal program for the coming year. Breakfast meals are raised ten cents and lunch meals are raised 25 cents.
