Khulna University undergraduate admission test; 41 to vie for each seat About 41 candidates will vie for each seat in upcoming admission test for first year honours courses of Khulna University (KU) for the session of 2013-2014. The admission test will begin from December 7 (Saturday) and continued till December 9 (Monday). The admission seekers may also have all the information about the admission test on the notice board, registrar office and the university website (ku.ac.bd/ admission/), says a press release. A total of 39,794 applications for 21 departments under five faculties and Fine Arts Institute were submitted against 979 seats on the last date of submission of forms, according to university records. Varsity sources said, Science, Engineering and Technology Faculty 8,989 candidates have submitted their forms against 326 seats in eight departments. Management and Business Administration Faculty 7,538 candidates submitted against 55 seats in one department, while 5,654 candidates have submitted their forms against 130 seats of three departments of Social Science Faculty. Besides, 5,838 candidates have submitted forms against 114 seats of two departments of Arts and Humanities Faculty and 11,246 against 307 seats in seven departments of Life Science Faculty. Sources said, a total of 529 candidates have submitted forms against 47 seats of the Fine Arts Institute. The admission test of Social Science will be held on December 7 at 10 am. And Arts and Humanities will be held on December 7 (the same day) at 2 pm. Science, Engineering and Technology will be held on December 8 at 10am. And Institute of Fine Arts will be held on December 8 (the same day) at 2:30 pm. On the other hand, admission test for Management and Business Administration will be held on December 9 at 10 am. And Life Science will be held on December 9 (the same day) at 2 pm. Registrar of KU, also member secretary of admission committee Dr Molla Ameer Hossain told ‘The Independent’ that the authorities will take all necessary steps, so that every admission seekers attend their examination hall with safety and peacefully. A large number of police and voluntary organisation members will be deployed on the campus to avert any untoward incident. Dr Ameer also appealed to all for extending their helping hands to continue the admission test peacefully and safely. In addition, metal detectors will be installed at entrance point of all centers to check bodies of examinees, registrar Molla Ameer further said.
