Kia Ora Whanau and friends, Everyday my parents talk about whakapapa and whenua, my parents are in their 70s awwwww seriously I want to hide somewhere but I know that one day ill have to do it but I dont wanna do it by myself....I really need a break away from NZ for a year or two just to gather all my knowledge and when I come back I will sort it out. I have seen some of our whenua illegally leased out, heard of problems with Whanau jumping on whenua that they shouldnt be on or successions I have to sort along with my parents, why cant it just be simple without the bullshit raruraru why cant everyone just get along or better why cant some of the family just share, the land belonged to our tupuna what we inherited. I would rather fight for the whenua that is confiscated then fight for the whenua that the Whanau are already on as long as the whanau acknowledge this then algud. Ive heard so many stories bout Whanau jumping the line in the whakapapa the younger generation climbing above the older generation well honestly i think its greedy cos there is no need too, all members of the whanau should be contacted so we dont have to keep reading the monthly Panui or succeeding to whenua taking our ancestors name off it and putting their own, to me when succeeding to whenua the shares should be handed back into the family to the siblings all of them to prevent future problems. or someone trying to play chief to all the kaumatuas and they not even a Kaumatua or someone treating our elders like shit, or someone sold the land, or some younger generation trying to act like they own the land cos they got a position working with the Iwi or hapu and they not even on it. What I would want is my mokos to stay as one not divide anything, to multiply, separation has divided us and generations later it becomes a burden, and then the families become distant, everyone wants to be higher then the other, everyone starts hating each other, the mokos end up together cos they dont know they are related till its too late, I understand the significance it has for many of our people but shux we fought the crown and now some families fighting one another. Really hope that if you plan to ever do this should have a mediation cos family should be able to sort it out of court not in court. Anyways just my views today because I was talking to someone close bout it.
