Kick off this week of Living the Dream with MLK Day and set aside - TopicsExpress

Kick off this week of Living the Dream with MLK Day and set aside time for congregational self-examination and reflection. Look for resources on furthering your racial justice work. Saturday, January 18 “Again and again, we are called to choose to commit ourselves to building a more just, more diverse, and yet ever messy and imperfect beloved community.” Laila Abraham, Bless the Imperfect Daily Theme: This year is the third annual 30 Days of Love and together, we will embark on this shared spiritual journey for social justice. In addition to lifting up stories across the country of people who have been standing on the side of love, we will also highlight the opportunities for personal transformation during this 30 Days of Love. If we commit to this 30 Days of Love, what does that mean for us personally? Will you take the time to let this journey change you? We encourage you to break open your heart, to paraphrase the great Mary Oliver, “so that it might break open and never close again to the rest of the world.” Let’s see where we can go together. Sign up for the Thirty Days of Love daily emails as a way to stay connected throughout the campaign. Today’s messenger is Taquiena Boston, Director of Multicultural Growth and Witness. Read Taquiena’s blog post here. Taquiena asks us: Why do we want to be multicultural? Resources: Check out what’s ahead for the 30 Days by clicking on the links for each day.
