Killing is the least creative of all the possible ways to solve a problem. The decision to kill means giving up on every other approach, out of expediency, fear, prejudice, or lack of energy and creativity to find another way. Killing is the antithesis of humanitys potential. Saying thats just human nature is to give up on all possibility of expressing that highest potential. Killing is a human possibility, but it is not human nature. We have known and taught for millenia that it is against our nature. Human nature is to evolve toward freedom, creativity, possibility, expression. Killing is the exact opposite of freedom, of creativity, of possibility, and of expression, for both the killer and the killed. It is not necessary to kill for war, for punishment, for law enforcement, or for self defense. Killing is only one alternative, and falling back on it is holding us back as a human society. Just as we have people working on how to increase crop yields, create lower-cost energy, and develop cures for diseases, we also need to deploy creative minds to work on sustainable and scalable ways to reduce and ultimately eliminate killing as a feature of our world.
