What sets SIGNS apart from any other restaurant isn’t what they offer on the menu, it’s what they offer its patrons in the form of education, compassion, understanding and perspective. SIGNS is the first business of its kind to employ only deaf men and women, providing them opportunities they would likely not have otherwise. As all servers are unable to take orders in the traditional way, the restaurant provides menus complete with symbols which allow diners to order their food using American sign language. Not only was Anjan inundated with applicants prior to launch, but since the restaurant opened its doors, customers are also lining up to be a part of the experience. Congratulations to Anjan for his remarkable and thoughtful business practices, and to all the staff of SIGNS for helping to show the world that we are all equal and all deserve an opportunity to shine.
