This is the first time that the Canadairs have been used in force (Four aircraft) in Sweden. Securite Civile Tankers #32 (F-ZBFS), #37 (F-ZBFY), Italian Tankers #12 (I-DPCD), #15 (I-DPCV) are battling the blaze. The Canadairs are operating out of Vasteras (Hasslo). On Wednesday (8-6) weather grounded Tanker operations until late afternoon as heavy smoke and low clouds caused dangerous flying conditions for the scoopers. Lakes in the area being used for scooping are Lake Amanningen West of the fire, other lakes designated are Horendesjon,Virsbosjon,Flacksjon,Langsjon and Snyten. Swedish reports stated that the Canadiars were able to drop 185,000 Gallons of water between 1700 and 2000 on Wednesday. Each aircraft was able to preform about 30 drops in that time frame.
