Knights Thought for the Day One of the greatest titles we can have is old friend. We enter into each others lives either for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Only time and experience can reveal which it is for any given friendship. I naturally and wishfully lean towards the lifetime model, which has led me to considerable disappointment in the past when I was in a reason or season relationship. Today, I still hope for the lifetime kind, but celebrate what it is for the moment. I love being an old friend, one who has been around for a long time. You and I need old friends in our lives and we all need to BE an old friend in someone elses life. I challenge you today to shun the tendencies of our culture to throw away relationships when they become inconvenient. I call you to love people and use things, not use people and love things. Jesus challenged us to store up treasure for ourselves in heaven. As I survey my life, there is only one thing I can identify that has the potential of being in heaven when I get there - that is the PEOPLE in my life. Make friends - be friendly - be an old friend!
