Kolej Universiti Linton (Linton University College) or formerly known as Kolej Linton was founded in 1985 in Ipoh, Perak. In its early stages, the College concentrated in offering the vocational and diploma level programmes in Engineering, namely Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Civil engineering and Building engineering. Since 1993, Kolej Linton has been conducting the Higher National Diploma (HND) courses in collaborative understanding with The Nottingham Trent University (TNTU) and in 1999, the cooperative relationship reached further achievement where the College was given the commendation by TNTU to channel the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (Final Year Studies) followed by the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering in 2000. After years performing in Education field, the College expand their collaboration with other University such as Coventry University, University of East London and Thomson River University. In May 2005, Kolej Linton was acquired by the Legenda Education Group. Legenda Education Group is a fast growing educational Group and one of the largest private tertiary institutions in Malaysia. Currently, there are five Colleges listed under the Group, three of which have been established for almost 20 years, while the other Colleges have histories of over 25 years and 7 years respectively.In 2007, Kolej Linton was given the approval to run six degree programmes from University of East London (UEL), UK. Programmes are Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Software Engineering, Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Information Systems, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Studies and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting & Finance. In March 2008, Kolej Linton went through a successful validation event with Coventry University, UK to offer the following four degree programmes: Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering Design, Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architectural Design Technology and Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Construction Management. In 2010 Kolej Linton welcome yet another exciting and momentous academic year. This new academic year is indeed an important one as it marks a new beginning for its institution that has been upgraded from a humble college to University College status. The College aspiration to be one of the centres of educational in Malaysia comes true when Kolej Linton was invited by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to upgrade the status from college to University College in 22 March 2010. The establishment ceremonial occasion of Linton University College was held at its campus in Bandar Universiti Teknologi Legenda, Mantin, Negeri Sembilan and was officiated by Y.B. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Minister of Higher Education Malaysia.Within its own campus, Linton University College was equipped with modern facilities including Engineering labs, computer science laboratory, Art and Design studios, spacious lecture theaters, and a well stocked library amongst other resources. Linton University College also provides a readily accessible advice and support services for its students under the ‘WE CARE’ pastoral care system throughout their study in our campus to ensure that all students are able to adapt well to their studies and to their new found social environment. Linton University College now offers six UEL Master Degree programmes: Master of Science in Computer Systems Engineering (Control Systems), Master of Science in Computer Systems Engineering (Software Systems), Master of Science in Computer Systems Engineering (Integrated Systems), Master of Science in Mobile Communications, Master of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Business Information Systems.
