I was 12 or so and ran in and let the door go too quick and it slammed on my foot. I was bleeding everywhere. I still have that scar. July 6, 2013 at 3:54pm · Like Kevin Mullins Sr. Living at 1253 James Street I practically lived there in the 1970s. Remember her husband Mr. Brian (I think) and her german shepherd Duke. July 6, 2013 at 3:55pm · Like Barb Green yes I remember the store,,and her July 6, 2013 at 4:38pm · Like Gina Smith I loved that store and all the penny candy. I would always go that and get there cotties...they were the best. They had this machine that sat on the counter that you would drop pennies in and try to hit the bullseye at the bottom for a prize. They also sold toys, baby stuff, games...all kind of good stuff. I remember a dog too, but do not remember it being a german sheppard. It was always laying on the floor at the back of the store where the steps were to get back to there kitchen area (I guess), it had a kitchen table, tv and some other things back there. There would always be sitting there when you went into the store. I would make at least 1 or 2 sometimes 3 I am sure trips there a day. The things we remember. Good childhood memories!
