Kumbakonam connection:Earlier i posted this in GR Sirs narration about Krishnarao agraharam.For reasons unknown to me it got deleted by pressing a wrong button. iam posting this again separatrly to find any body in our mdms related to me through gundopant(h) /Wallace yamuna(wallesmanabai families of kumbakonam.We have relative by name Saroja athya and her husband Rangarao(both no more) from Ambamantapam in Sree rangam. Dr.Vasudevans(DRDO) wife Mrs.Radha is related to me (through Jayyu mami) Vijendra Rao 3:06pm Jun 13 my paternal grandfather had a house in east iyen street.his name was Govindarao.We are pant(h)s.My fore fathers were known as Gundopanth.My father migrated to Guntur in1925 or so after his M.A.L.T.(from Presidency college,Madras )to join as Chemistry lecturer.My Kaka stayed In Kumbakonam,by name Jayaramarao(Vasu kaka) and his wife(Santha bai).after my ancestral house was sold out in 1972 by my kaka they shifted to our ancestral temple(15a,north chakrapani street ,next t o sanskrit college or school.My G-in-F had a sister Gunda and her daughter Sethu. From my patrnal grand side.they belong to wallce yamuna bai family(colloquially called as Wallysemana bai).My grand mothers brother was a well known Vakil at that time known as Vakil ramachandrarao(Chandramama) whose second wife was Jayyu mami.They were staying West iyen street or east iyen st(i am not clear).it is next to criminal court now.We had (still have) coconut grove across the river but occupied by unauthorized people but that land belongs to to my temple where i am only a trusty.As i was the youngest of the family my memories of Kumbakonam are a few.Ifirst visited Kmu(with a knowledge of my visit) in 1965 when my grand father expired. i was a small kid.My kaka used to take to Cauvery every day for bath and rhen to our temple.I saw the movie Karna in a dera Hall.we used to have nice koyya phalam, seasonal fruit etc and morning Idli sambar coconut chutney,Thikat meet with Pohney.The tASTE I NEVER FORGOT IT EVEN TODAY.My G-in-F told my kaka that he wouldnt stay longer(died at the age of 90) and his demise should be celebrated but not a mourning.as told by my father later on. so all rituals were followed as per sastra and whatever we experienced as joy for kids were after 15 days.Why i narreted is i want to know any body having relationship to my father side and from kumbakonam.My mother was from Chennai and Triplicane..
