Kwe metalwulotioq Our Eskasoni, Ni’n Teluisi Stephen Francis Googoo, a’qq tewije’ 29. I would like to begin by thanking the ones who nominating me in the 2014 oncoming election. I would like to tell you all a bit about my self and why I feel that I would make a great team member and candidate with the Chief and Council. I have been sober since the day I was born and this has shaped me to be the respectful person I am today. I am very thankful to grow up on our reserve, because it has given me the years to learn about our concerns and problems as community. I speak, read, and write fluently in our Mi’kmaq language, and I am also respectful towards our culture and traditions in the Catholic faith. I have learned over the years not be a loud person, because I enjoy listening to people and earning their trust. Listening to people has taught me the respect to listen to peoples concerns, and also to find solutions together as a team instead of trying to do so on my own. I am an honest and kind person, and I have proven myself through constant volunteer work in cultural events in Eskasoni. I helped many people fundraise, especially those who needed the most. I always enjoy being a helping hand whenever I am needed. I want to take on the position of a council member, because I feel I ready to do so. I want to listen to our people, I want to help our people, I want our people to be heard, and Importantly, I want to work for you. I am asking you in this oncoming election to support me, so that I can show you I am the person you want in council. I am asking for a chance, because I want to take the first steps towards change through listening to my people. I believe in change, and it will not happen unless we work as a team. Welalioq Eskasoni. Vote Steve Googoo Respectful, Honest, and There for you!
