LARED conference in Slovakia: All about relationships This year’s LARED conference took place in Liptovsky Jan in the mountains of northern Slovakia again. The main theme of conference was Relationships. We invited speakers from Slovakia, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. 42 participants accepted the invitation, including several new people who joined on their friends’ recommendation. Everyone enjoyed the friendly family atmosphere throughout the conference. Friday afternoon Ondrej Magyar, the chairman of LARED association, opened the conference with a short introduction of all participants. Marian Kolnik spoke in the evening about The Importance of Trust in Business relationships. On Saturday morning Peter Briscoe, the Vice-President of Europartners, spoke about Influence of decisions on business relationships. In the afternoon, after small relaxation break, the couple Marian and Magda Kolnik spoke about relationships in a marriage and family and shared their personal experiences with us. It was a special time. In the evening, after dinner, Peter Briscoe talked about a very practical topic Human resources and the growth of the company. Also the first membership meeting after establishing of association LARED in November 2012 took place on Saturday. We spoke about statutes, purposes, plans and activities of LARED. 12 new members joined in. The association now has 23 members in total. We finished the day with Marek Orawski from Czech republic who shared with us his life’s and business experience. On Sunday morning we had a worship service and a enjoyed a final lecture from Ondrej Magyar. He spoke about What supports me in the time of life’s crisis. Before lunch we held a short feedback and evaluation session for the conference. Overall, people enjoyed the weekend although the program was very intensive, mainly on Saturday. Next time we will change the schedule and allow more time for free conversations and sharing. We are thankful for this blessed time and are looking forward to the next conference in May 23-25, 2014.
