LAST DAY!!! PASSED HIS EVALS!! ZONA, 1 yr old, male EVALUATION COMMENTS: Soft, smooshy-faced boy is really tired of being in a kennel. •Moderate/difficult kennel retrieval. Dog rushed gate when assessor approached --Pressed head firmly into gap when kennel opened; accepted leash and exited rapidly. •Moderate/high arousal in kennel runs –strong pulling with tall posture, piloerection, tail stiff & high. Softened outside. Occasional pulling on semi-taut leash; strong interest in passing dogs. •Friendly & people-focused in yard. Readily solicited attention –pressed against assessor’s legs with tail wagging, body & mouth soft. Licked faces & climbed in laps. Mild interest in toys –chased but lost interest quickly. Easily distracted. High arousal at fence with passing dogs •Food motivated. Default sit, partial down, gentle with treats. Fast eater with stiff posture, face pressed firmly into dish. Tense but tolerant of handling while eating. Required significant pressure to yield. •Dog selective with social tendencies; direct & overbearing on approach –tall posture, tail high, ears forward, mouth closed, prolonged eye contact. Rude & managerial on greeting –pressed immediate face to face contact, head overs & invasive sniffing. Nose-punched & crowded smaller dog; much more polite & non-confrontational with larger male. Opportunistic; tendency to seek status/push boundaries during interaction. –Dog introduction required. –Kids aged teens + due to handling sensitivities. –Signs of kennel deterioration.
