LATEST ON AAUA CRISIS: Nigerian Police Force, Ondo State Command has announced the redeployment of DPO Akungba to P&G section at Command Headquarters, Akure. This is coming bearly a week after he used a wrong tactics in quelling the Students demonstration at AAUA resulting from killing of a student by a reckless commercial mini bus driver. The DPO popularly called Fashola was said to have opened fire on the students to disperse them which action nearly led to violent demonstration until the intervention of Area Commander from Owo and Soldiers from check point at Ikare that brought their experiences to bear to douse the tension. Normalcy has since returned to the campus and the host community. We hope that the new DPO will embrace the new trend of Community Policing and show respect to traditional authorities in Akungba without compromising his office. This is lacking in the outgoing DPO!
