LATEST UPDATE FROM ADMIN, JO (QUOTED FROM JO FB) Not much news from the programmers just yet. Yan is doing random things with the server though; I have installed munin on all server, reporting to the master.. There you will have nice graph of server usage, spike and trend. With this we will be able respond the demand. .... Things I will go through next: Server settings, security a bit ( ssh port, will check the approach to take with the team ), bruteforce protection, firewall tweaking, and some basic server hardening, then later we will lock everything safe and secure. Meanwhile were waiting on Paul & Daniel to finish adjusting our code, to make everything compatible with multiple database servers.... As many sections of our code require read/write access, but with our slave databases we have read only. And with the master, its pretty much write only... So its just a matter of juggling everything around to point everything in the right direction. * Then later in the week, we can start rebuilding queries using specific databases. Then point specific queries at a specific slave database for calculation. And this will really help distribute the load between our multiple servers. Lots of work to do... but im hoping to be back online later today.
