LDS JOBS Opportunity: The Self-Reliance Services Department is in need of: POSITION TITLE: Self Reliance Center Manager, Grade 94 JOB PURPOSE: Reports to the Area Self-Reliance Manager and receives strategic and operational guidance from him. This role helps those members who are in need, willing to be worthy, and willing to work to provide for themselves and their families the temporal and spiritual necessities of life; or self-reliance. Directs all Self-Reliance activities for the service area, ensuring members achieve self-reliance through education, job placement, and/or self-employment opportunities, with particular emphasis on returned missionaries and Church leaders. Cultivates relationships with senior business, educational, financial, government, and community leaders; coordinates with vocational/technical training and educational institutions; works with banks, micro credit, NGOs, and other financial institutions, all for the purpose of linking un/underemployed members to vetted resources. Serves as a resource to the Stake/District Self-Reliance Committee and coordinates the work of self-reliance with priesthood leaders Oversees and provides strategic direction and support to (1) Self-Reliance Center in designated geographic area, ensuring proper staffing of Self-Reliance Centers with full-time and Church-service missionaries. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in business, sales, marketing or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least five years of professional experience including demonstrated success working with mid- to upper-level management and with entrepreneurial start-ups, sales, marketing or other business development roles. Demonstrated abilities to train large groups of people and to develop others in coaching /mentoring relationship. Church leadership experience including application and understanding of welfare principles and the ability to properly influence Priesthood and Relief Society leaders. Knowledge of laws and government regulations pertaining to employment and labor standards. Must have a high level of analytical and creative skills, the ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing and strong personal computer skills. Willingness to travel extensively and work in a mobile office. Strong personal work ethic. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1. Standard Application Form for employment 2.
