LDWs PREFERRED TUNES, #306: SHADOWS IN THE RAIN — Sting (1980, this arrangement 1985) Ive always preferred the up-tempo full-band version of this song that Sting did on The Dream of the Blue Turtles than the original version with The Police. The original version never really seemed to .... go anywhere. Or vary much in tone or delivery from one verse to another. It was a bit of a departure from the rest of the Polices output at the time, but not enough to sustain interest. This version, though, both rocks and swings.
