LEARNING TO HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD: I was in the presence of God at Mt. Horeb Prayer centre and God spoke to me teach believers to hear His voice. Please I request for your patience to read on because its long and then you need to get this clearly so that it can be helpful to you. When you hear and obey the voice of God, you will be out of the competition ring. Hearing Gods voice is a challenge to many believers today. Its such a disappointment to walk with someone whom you cannot dialogue with. Its such a tragedy for any servant of God who cannot discern Gods voice yet leading a whole crowd. We have many believers even tongue speaking who have lived for years in salvation yet they have nothing evident to share in regard to hearing from God. What a pity... Lets ask ourselves these questions first. Is it possible to hear God? Who should hear Gods voice? This is what Jesus said according to the New Testament. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. This means anyone who has made up his mind to follow Christ and has entered into covenant with Him through salvation is eligible to hear His Voice. God speaks in diverse ways and from different levels according to our Faith, the Grace upon us and our level of relationship with Him. Many believers do pray, cry, roll down etc and after that if you ask someone immediately or later what God spoken to him or her after all the hours of gymnastics they have nothing to say. Why? Because you have not given yourself to #LEARN to hear Him Speak. You need to begin this journey. Lets sample some of the experiences of some great servants of God when they first heard God speak to them personally. Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, Here I am. And he ran to Eli and said, Here I am; you called me. But Eli said, I did not call; go back and lie down. So he went and lay down. 1Samuel 3:4-5. Until this time, Samuel would not distinguish between God speaking and his fathers (Eli) voice. Eli having had an experience with God also took some patience to discern because he may be couldnt expect this boy to be hearing God this soon. 1Samuel 3:6: Again the LORD called, Samuel! And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, Here I am; you called me. My son, Eli said, I did not call; go back and lie down. you see Eli is still buying time again to understand exactly what is happening to the son. Also we see God taking more time to speak again and again to this undiscerning boy patiently until he understands His voice. This is Gods character because He wants to give all His sons a chance to learn not only to walk with Him, but also to hear Him when He speaks. Lets read the next verse. 1Samuel 3:7-9, Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. A third time the LORD called, Samuel! And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, Here I am; you called me. Then Eli realized that the LORD was calling the boy. Now we see Eli coming to his senses and realizing that Samuel was indeed experiencing unfamiliar visitation and that it was God beginning to speak to his son. For the first time he advised the son how to succeed in the new phenomena. How do I know this? 1Samuel 3:9-11. So Eli told Samuel, Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, Samuel! Samuel! Then Samuel said, Speak, for your servant is listening. And the LORD said to Samuel: See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle. LET ME POINT OUT A FEW THINGS HERE. Eli was right. #1. It means one can learn to discern Gods voice through the counsel of those who already are able to hear it. #2. God is always willing to commune with us, but we could be either uninformed or not ready to learn to discern His voice when He is speaking. #3. It calls for obedience and humility to learn to hear Gods voice. #4. We need to be still and patient in His presence in order to give Him a chance. Many believers enter into Gods presence in a hurry and leave faster than immediately hence miss out divine visitation. Learn to take time in His Presence. #5. We can make mistakes on our journey to learn accurately when God is speaking, but with practice we gradually end up achieving. It means that if we mis-interpret it then we shall and into big mess. #6. We must learn to address God. Samuel answered, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” What a salutation. #7. God can still speak to us even when we list expect it. You see Samuel was caught up in bed asleep. It means we need to remain conscious of God always for you never know when He may answer that question or prayer. Before I proceed with part two of this topic, I need to know if somebody is following the message or if you are getting blessed. This will encourage me to speak more. Do that by commenting down here regarding the above, questions or other experiences of your own. By the end of this teaching you should be ready and able to hear the Voice of God. TO BE CONTINUED…
