LESSON 44: JUNE29, 2014:-MAKING RIGHT THE WRONG PART 1 PRAYER POINT: Ask God for the grace and wisdom to restitute of things which were wrongfully possessed BIBLE PASSAGE:- LUKE 19:1-10 1: And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2: And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3: And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4: And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5: And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. 6: And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7: And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8: And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9: And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. MEMORY VERSE: LUKE19: 8: And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. LESSON INTRODUCTION Making right the wrong, otherwise called restitution is commanded by God to enable us follow peace with all men. It is an act of putting right what has been done wrongly. It is divine restoration of all things to their original owner. In theis lesson, we shall consider what restitution is and its blessings. LESSON OUTLINE 1- WHAT IS RESTITUTION? 1. It is the act of putting right what has been wrongly done 2. It is returning of what has been forcefully or deceitfully acquired 3. It is repairing things damaged at will 4. It is giving equivalent compensation to loss or pains inflicted on neighbors 5. It is spiritual exercise which precedes clear conscience and good testimony. LESSON OUTLINE 2- RESTITUTION AT VARIOUS DISPENSATIONS 1. Restitution has been taught at various dispensations 2. It was practiced before the time of Moses. Lev6:1-6;24:21;Number5:6-8 3. Moses taught it and it was written as a commandment 4. It was observed during the dispensations of Kings and prophets. 2Sam12:1-6;2Kgs 8:1-6 5. Restitution was practiced in the days of the Lord Jesus and that of the Apostles. Lk19:8-10 6. It is to be observed in our days too LESSON OUTLINE 3:- THE BLESSINGS OF RESTITUTION If believers would restitute of their ways according to the word of God, they would be entitled to the following blessings: 1. Favour from God. Luke2:52 2. Speedy answers to prayers. Luke11:9 3. Fearlessness. Ps27:1 4. Healing. Ps107:20 5. Anointing for exploit. Act10:38 6. Hearing from God from time to time 7. Heavenly provisions. Ps132:15-16 SUMMARY God wants His children to restore things they have wrongly acquired so that their prayers will not be delayed or hindered.
