LESSONS FROM MAMA (part 01 - from Humble beginnings) YOU HAVE TO SEE IT FIRST - TRIPS TO THE CITY. I grew up in a small town, called Malosa. Ok, may not a town as such, but a decorated village. My mother was a secondary school teacher at the government school, with 5 children and of course my other cousins to take care of. Had just lost my paps, Single parenting, It was hard with the humble government salary (K2,400.00), you know how it is. I respect her. One other amazing thing that I will always respect her for making us become who we are now is this; she understood what God did with Abraham, to make him see the stars for the vision to manifest. TRIPS TO TOWN At the end of each month, as a civil servant, she had to travel by bus to Zomba town, and sometimes to Blantyre city to collect her salary. So this is what she did, every new month she could get one child at a time, she kept on telling us, You all must see the big city, you must see how other people live, you must see the cars people drive, you must see the big houses people live in, I may not afford to take all of you at once, but one at a time, ok. So we used to take turns, and when it was your month to travel with mum to the city, it was an unforgettable experience. MY FIRST TRIP Talking about my first turn, I was 6, I remember like it was yesterday, it is a memory I cannot forget, it built me, she brought me to Blantyre City, and she showed me Mount Soche hotel, and Chayamba building, I was mesmerized, I had not seen any building that big with many stories, true story. She said, My son this is the life I want you to see, and this is where I want to be one day. I saw more cars than I could count, because where I was growing up, we could count all the cars, while my other siblings could be identifying the colors. My mum taught us this, even in the decorated poverty we were in, We had to work on our faith as early as possible. She believes It all starts with the mind, it starts with you seeing it. Once you have locked that future in your mind and spirit, dont ask God how you are going to do it, because HE is your How. I grew up in that small town but my vision was Big and outside that town.. HAPPY MOTHERS WEEK SPECIAL LOTS OF LOVE TO MY MOM AND ALL MOTHERS OUT THERE, ALIVE OR NOT.
