LETTER TO MY GOVERNOR, RT. HON. CHUBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI; Sir, It is no secret that the Rivers State Government held at the Government House, Port Harcourt, an International Conference on Democracy and Good Governance with Guest Speakers as the former Prime Minister of Ireland, John Bruton, Jark Straw among others. While I am not against the Conference, I personally do not think you need to host such Conference to do the right thing in Rivers State. You have been Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly for eight[8] clear years under the Governorship of your now denied Political God-father, Dr. Peter Odili. Thereafter GOD brought you back to Office as Governor to personally CORRECT the Wrongs/Failures, which you aided and partook in as the head of the LEGISLATURE, which failed in its effective Legislative Over-sight functions for Rivers State who elected them. Sir, in your 1st tenure, you did not need Foreign Guests to tell you that Rivers State people need NOT MERE Opening of spaces called Road, but QUALITY ROADS that can bring in INVESTORS. You knew this and took a bold step by bringing in RCC which handled and delivered Airforce/Eliozu/Rukpokwu; Waja/Elekahia/Rumuomasi; Slaughter/Rumuobiakani Roads. The zeal also made you seek to implement academic ideas from Ghana in the Model Primary/Secondary Schools, as well as Health Care Centers and other Health facilities among other people oriented projects. HOWEVER, and sadly contrary to the MANDATE of Rivers people for your 2nd Tenure, which clearly was TO PURSUE and CONTINUE the 1st Tenure Development, you fell in Love and followed a destructive Political charming young lady called NIGERIAN GOVERNORS’ FORUM Politics. You abandoned the People’s MANDATE for the so called “ THE AUTHENTIC CHAIRMAN OF GOVERNORS’ FORUM”, which is of no practical economic or political benefit to Rivers people. TODAY, you heading the Executive have DESTROYED the LEGISLATURE. You are currently battling seriously to destroy the JUDICIARY. Sir, in your 2nd Tenure, suddenly RCC is of no Relevance. MCC is now the Julius Berger of Rivers State, DOING MANUAL CONSTRUCTION without ANY GUARANTEE on any job being done just like BULLETINE Nigeria Limited. Example, the almighty AZAZI [former NKPOGU] Road among others. Sir, WHAT KIND OF GOVERNANCE will these Men tell you. WHY DID YOU NOT CALL BIG SISTER OBY EZEKWESILI, who can TELL YOU THE TRUTH. May GOD grant you WISDOM to abandon TALKING TOO MUCH and ANTAGONISING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, BUT to Copy/Emulate Men like Fashola of Lagos, Comrade of Edo State and Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State in DEVELOPING Rivers State.
