LETTER TO THE EDITOR DEAR GOD REDEEM THIS COUNTRY ZAMBIA Editor, I write to convey my heartfelt condolences to the first family and the nation at large on the untimely death of HE Michael C.Sata who passed away on 28th October, 2014 in London. I always cherish and appreciate his leadership and contributions to the politics of Zambia and development of the nation in his own way. May the good Lord comfort and help the family and the nation through this tragic and sad loss. In a sorrowful moment like this one, fellow Zambians it would be prudent to seek God’s intervention and guidance. Let His will be done upon Zambia. The will of God pervades and replaces every area of life. It is God’s will that determines our lives and destiny (Matt 6:33). God’s plan and purpose for Zambia are unchangeable, and His will is unchallengeable. What He has purposed, He brings to pass, and no government can frustrate His will (Daniel 4:34,35). After all, it is God who appoints leaders and disappoints them (Daniel 2:21) because God is the Most High, Ruler of kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone He wishes (Daniel 4:17). Zambians be awake, have the spirit of discernment and never allow the enemies to manipulate us. Some Zambian leaders once said “Zambians are docile” and “Zambians easily forget”. Is it true? Beware of the enemies of the will of God! An enemy is someone who is against us, who may wish us evil, or who may even try to harm us. People who preach, “One Zambia, One Nation”, when it favours them, people who give others name tags such as ‘tribalistic”,”regionalism” and other names for their defence in order to win sympathy, support and favours. People who demean others and judge them wrongly. People with evil influence to give them gross advantage over the affairs of the nation. Please highly learned women and men of this land, I am appealing to you to apply your wisdom and intelligence properly in this transition period. Respect the rule of law and interpret the laws of the land to the satisfaction of every Zambian. God uses politics to accomplish His will. Though we find evil men and women abuse their political power. God’s intention is good, working all things together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Open your eyes and give leadership to a person who will continue to lead and propel this country to economic, social and political prosperity. Dear God redeem this country Zambia.
