LICAM is proud to add Swiss Jazz Award Winner and Grammy nominee Alexia Gardner to its esteemed voice faculty. https://youtube/watch?v=RX52lqNyrW8 Alexia Gardner is a British Singer with Jamaican Roots. She began her career touring the British Cabaret Circuit in England and Wales during her teens. She toured with her gifted, younger sister - Paula Gardner - as a sophisticated Accapella duo called High Profile. Alexia is a graduate of Londons Central School of Speech and Drama with a Bachelor of Education Honours in Speech and Drama (B.Ed Hons) She first embarked on a very rewarding teaching career in her home city, Birmingham, where she taught Drama and English Language at Secondary Schools but soon began persuing her love of music, particularly that of Jazz. A solo career took her across the Mediterranean on luxury Cruise Liners as well as to the luxury hotel groups in Asia and the Middle East. Alexia has had the honor of singing for the likes of the late Nelson Mandela (Kuala Lumpur 2001), to several Heads of States and Prime Ministers; from Sir Sebastion Coe (Xintiandi, Shanghai 2005) to Sir Richard Branson (Singapore 2000). Alexia has 4 albums to her name. Three of which were recorded in front of a LIVE audience in Hongkong, Shanghai and Basel, SWITZERLAND. Alexia, along with her Trio, are the 2011 Swiss Jazz Award Winners. In the same year, Alexia was honored to find herself a nominee of the 53rd Grammy Awards for her 3rd album - Chasing Hope, Alexia Gardner And Off Beat. She was nominated in two Categories Best Vocal Jazz Album and Best New Comer. Alexia feels the highlight of her career, thus far, was being invited to play the lead role of AIDA in Elton John and Tim Rices Rock Musical - AIDA. Alexia performed in the GERMAN Production of the Musical - AIDA DAS MUSICAL - in the Swiss Capital of Bern in May and April 2013.
