LISMORE Police were called to a report about a young male maliciously damaging a shop window in Woodlark Street a short time ago. It was also reported that the person of interest was throwing his bicycle into the window. The reason for the behaviour is not known. The damage continued for some time with police responding quickly. A pursuit followed when police were sighted by the person of interest who took off on his bicycle. He evaded police for a short time but a number of marked police vehicle and an unmarked police vehicle flooded the area within minutes. They seemingly cornered the young person within a perimeter of a few blocks. The person of interest managed to cross a few roads and duck off into lanes until sighted by police again. A short foot pursuit also resulted as a number of vehicles were circulating before the person of interest was eventually taken into custody further along Woodlark Street. A few security officers also stopped. Members of the public and security officers assisted police during the pursuit using their phones to direct them to where the person of interest was heading while evading police on his bicycle.
