LIVE BLOG: Three schools investigated in the wake of allegations of a Trojan Horse takeover plot by hardline Muslims in Birmingham have been declared failing and placed in special measures, it has been confirmed today. The Trust has robustly rejected the findings and in a statement, its vice-chair David Hughes insisted that the schools “do not tolerate or promote extremism” and said it would be seeking to mount a legal challenge to the judgments. Inspectors from Ofsted have visited 21 schools after a document referred to an alleged plot by hardliners to seize control of governing bodies, and the watchdog will release all of the reports into the schools later today.
