At around the same time, the clubs that are playing in Europe will examine the list to see if there are any matches which need to be moved. Return to CHAMPIONS LEAGUE will test mettle The Reds first Champions League group match will be played on either September 16 or 17, and they will face a tricky trip to West Ham United the following weekend. Their next two post-Champions League games look rather more appealing, with home games against West Bromwich Albion on October 4, and Hull City on October 25. But as the season heads into winter, things begin to hot up. Liverpool face their fourth Champions League group game on November 4 or 5, before hosting title rivals Chelsea on November 8 – although Mourinhos side will, of course, face the same issue. A home game against Stoke City, on November 29, will immediately follow their fifth group game, whilst the trip to Manchester United, on December 13, will come after the Reds final group stage match. Louis Van Gaals side, of course, will not have the distraction of European football this time around.
