LLUC - INTRODUCTION TO THE SERMON One of the great privileges of my life is to pastor at the Loma Linda University Church. I have consistently found LLUC to be a vibrant community of God-fearing, Jesus-following, others-serving, good-hearted people. I am deeply grateful for you! To quote the apostle Paul: “I thank my God every time I remember you” (Philippians 1:3, TNIV). A key part of the joy of ministry at LLUC is the staff with whom I am privileged to serve. In fact, pastoral ministry is today’s focus. In his letters, the apostle Paul spent quite a bit of time talking about his call to ministry and his resultant service as an apostle. By reading his words, we receive deep insights not only into his life and world, but also into how ministry ought to be conceived of and carried out even in our world. My prayer is that by the time we finish today’s service, you—as our beloved congregation—might have a deeper insight into both why and how we do ministry in the name of Jesus at LLUC. One note: for two Sabbaths—this Sabbath and next (September 14)—because of the sermon content and its application to our entire church, the same sermon will be preached at all three services. May the grace of God sustain you. Randy Roberts Senior Pastor
