LOL. Despite the sarcasm (referring to how the west thinks of the other), and on a serious note, traveling is the only way you can learn about other cultures. Books are not enough to explore overseas. You need to interact with people, smell the air, taste their food, learn a bit about their language, etc... Traveling only helps you explore how much humans have in common and certainly challenges all the stereotypes and false assumptions you had prior to your trip, or the opposite. I know I have changed my perspective. It took me so long to straighten things out in my mind, and still learning.
