LOWLIGHT of today: upsetting a customer. Completely unintentionally, but it was so my bad. The lady in question ordered a pork taco and had asked for it to be in a takeaway box. I handed it to her and then glanced back to see her sitting down eating it with her little boy next to her. I said something like: she coulda got it on a plate if she was eatin here. Not meant for her ears. But she heard it and proceeded to tell me that her little boy was crying and she thought shed have had to take away, but hed settled down. Either way, it was not my place to cast dispersions on how she wanted her taco served. Just that boxes are meant for 2 and twice as expensive as plates, so we always try to put 1 on a plate and 2 in a box. She was very upset and I didnt get a chance to apologise as she dashed off and we were busy. I feel absolutely terrible. Its our job to make people happy, not sad or upset. Ive been completely gutted since it happened. So Colleen, if youre reading this, please accept my apologies and come and have some tacos on us. Theres a box here with your name on (even if you do just want one). Sorry! X
